About Maitri Bhavna Foundation
Our Mission
At Maitri Bhavna our mission is to reduce suffering of animals through projects which encompass vaccination and sterilisation, rescue and rehabilitation, and humane education to promote compassion and safety.
We believe that awareness of animal laws along with understanding of animal behaviour will reduce cruelty.
We collobarate with and support citizens, NGOs, schools, residential society associations and feeders to help create a compassionate society.
Our Programmes
We run time bound, outcome oriented programmes in collaboration with other NGOs and agencies.
We run school awareness programmes to educate children on how to be safe and compassionate.
Our current programmes include:
1. Close The Loop
Here we work with caregivers ('farishtas') to vaccinate puppies, sterilise the mother dog, and then sterilise the puppies. With this we close the loop, one locality at a time. Thus. we control population, prevent rabies, reduce suffering of the dogs and puppies, and ensure we do not overload the animal hospitals and foster care shelters.
2. Humane Education Programmes
We run humane education programmes in collaboration with specialist NGOs in schools related to reducing suffering of animals.
With this we create compassion, awareness of dog behaviour, and safety measures against dog bites and rabies.
Volunteer Opportunities
Come, volunteer with us. We have projects which involve as little as 2-4 hours a week, to full internships of 6 months.
